All staff members at SIS are DBS (data barring services) checked. Other relevant checks are carried out to ensure that staff members are suitable to work with children and young people as appropriate.
A large proportion of the staff members have qualified teacher status (QTS) in the UK, and are serving teachers from the mainstream sector. The school also has teachers who are qualified to teach Qur’an and Basic Arabic Language having completed relevant courses for the subjects.
A significant number of staff are previous pupils/students of SIS. The school also has a number of volunteers who are ex-students of SIS.
